Dumplin is a 3 month old chow mix female puppy. She is almost completely red in color, with a black ring on her tail, and a black tip on her tail, as well. Dumplin has started her puppy vaccines and wormings, as well as heartworm prevention. She will be spayed Nov. 12, and will be available for adoption after that.

This covers the cost of spay/neuter, any tests that have been done, vaccines, wormings, flea and heartworm prevention, as well as a microchip ID implanted in the pet. Julia has been temperament tested and is wonderful with other dogs and children. Julia has shown no food or toy aggression, and is nothing but a tail wagging bundle desperately in need of love, food, and a family to call her own. She adores all of our children, and is not shy or timid with anyone. She has just learned to sit on command, and will be learning other basics as well. Very eager to please and super smart!
Lady is guestimated to be about a year old, 30-35 lbs. She is a very slight, petite little lady who is finished growing but could stand to gain a little more weight. Lady has been spayed, has all her shots including rabies, is excellent around other dogs and children, but has not been introduced to cats yet so we don't know how she will do with them. Lady is on the submissive side with other dogs, and will not readily defend herself. She has done wonderfully with ALL our other dogs and kids! She is crate trained and is likely house-broken, as she has had no accidents since being here. If you have room in your heart and home for a little lady, please come see this special little girl!
Riddle has had all his shots and been de-wormed. He will be neutered and vetted prior to adoption. He has shown absolutely no aggression (food or otherwise) with our children or with any adults. Riddle is an extremely lovable puppy who just wants love and exercise (and some nourishing meals, as he is quite underweight at 35 lbs.). Riddle is almost full grown. He is can be quite rambunctious so potential adopters need to be committed to giving him the training he deserves to bring out his full potential. We believe once he is used to a home life he will settle down nicely. VERY smart dog - picking up basic training commands FAST!
Mocha wants to kiss and hug and play, and does exceptionally well with children. She is very athletic and would do well with an active lifestyle. She is NOT hyper, but she is young and needs daily runs or long walks, or at least a huge fenced yard to romp in. She just wants to be loved and played with. Unfortunately she was not socialized properly with other dogs in her past life, so she shows some aggression to other dogs. We have been working with her and she plays nicely on the leash with several other rescues. At this time we'd like her to go to a family where she is the only dog. Mocha has had all her shots and is scheduled to be spayed on 11/9/2009. Mocha has not had any potty accidents since being here.

These adorable faces where once at the shelter getting ready to be put down but thankfully the volunteer had them pulled because she could not bare the thought of them leaving this world so she took them in and cleaned them up and now they are ready for their forever family. These companions need to find homes soon because there are always more to help at the shelter. She can't pull anyone else from the shelter until these sweet faces find homes first. This is a BEG LETTER plain and simple. We are begging your broken bags and dented cans of dog food for our hound rescue. We would also be most grateful for any other damaged animal care products that would ordinarily be discarded. Even if you are local and have a dogfood donation...we turn down nothing that we can re-cycle. We even accept last year's freezer meat and garden veggies !We remain ready, willing, available and able to pick up almost any day and almost at any time.
HOMEWOODS RESCUE is a modest all-volunteer, non-profit organization which is funded solely by donations from a compassionate public. The second half of this letter shares additional information regarding our rescue for your review and consideration. Please note that we are endorsed by Wicomico County Humane Society and licensed by the state of MD. and co-partnered with Healing Hands Animal Hospital in Salisbury ,MD.
The bottomline is that we really really need your help. We would be more than willing to set up pick up times even trash barrels for food if you were a grocery store or whatever regimen under your direction. We would do this in an expedient and organized manner.
I am asking for your support in a different sort of way. The stray dog/puppy population on the Delmarva Peninsula is prodigious. We are trying, like so many other shelters to change this. This can be accomplished by feeding and caring for the animals that are on the Delmarva Peninsula and then moving them onto loving forever homes.

We are the companions of Bladen County Animal Control in Elizabethtown, North Carolina. A very small shelter in a rural area of the state. We try very hard to save as many of them as possible but sometimes the odds are against us. Even though from time to time we do get help form other rescue groups, currently they are full and can't help us at this time so we are asking for some outside help. We do have someone who is willing to transport companions for a very reasonable fee and you can view this information on the attached website from "A Shelter Friend". Our companions are vetted with their ouchie shots and will come with a health certificate from a licensed vet. All thier missing is a safe and loving home where they can enjoy being a dog. If you can open up your heart and have the room in you home for one of these wonderful sweethearts, please do give us a call. Time and space is very limited and the sense of urgency is upon us. Slinky is a beautiful, calm, loving, gentleman. He has recently lost his owner to cancer and is looking for a second forever home. I’m told by his caregiver that he was LOVED by his owner. This love-bug is a true snuggler. And actually waits patiently for an opportunity to snuggle up in the big chair with fostermom. He shares the chair quite nicely with his foster sister (who tends to have trouble getting along with others at times) He was welcomed with open arms by my dogs and his foster sister with no issues. Slinky enjoys being outside and doesn’t even mind the rain! I believe this dog will adjust well to almost any family and will be a joyful addition. If you’re looking for a nice, calm dog.. Slinky may be the one.

The father (sire) of the litter is the Great Pyranese (white) and the mother (bitch) is the german shepard. Both dogs highly intelligent and loyal. ..just an accidental litter. :-)
