The installed Mayline Mobile Parallel Ruling Straightedge utilizes Delrin rollers under the straightedge surface and a metal ball bearing and pulley/wire system for smooth travel that protects your paper surface. The Delrin rollers look like egg shaped plastic beads that roll under the surface of the straightedge. The bar moves all the way up and down the board on the spring-tensioned cables and keeps its parallel orientation so that it can either enable drawing parallel lines, or, by using acrylic drafting triangles, drawing whatever angled or perpendicular lines are required for a particular design. (an orange acrylic drafting triangle (not included) is shown for demonstration purposes in one of the photos).
There is a full width "leg" on the back that enables it to sit up at an angle on a table.
