Hope Care & Love HHS is looking for two Direct Support Professionals.
Summary:
The DSP's overall responsibility is to work with individuals who have developmental disabilities. Assist individuals to become more integrated in their communities by maximizing the person’s strengths, interests, and abilities. The goal for individuals to direct their own activities that create a meaningful life. This includes contributing to the community and developing relationships with people outside their support system. Support may occur in a variety of settings and may include providing personal care, assistance with daily living activities, job coaching, teaching/developing skills, advocating with the individual, assisting in communication and self-expression, and ultimately supporting the individual in meeting his or her own goals.
Duties:
- Skill building and support in positive behavior, relationship building, and social skills.
- Routine supports the individual's self-management, eating, and personal care needs in the community.
- Monitoring the individual's health and physical condition and providing support with medication and other medical needs.
- Promote individual's rights, dignity, freedom of choice, and their individuality according to person centered thinking.
- Responsible for promptly reporting incidents, or evidence of abuse or violation of individual's rights.
- Model desirable behaviors for service individuals and coworkers.
- Complete daily progress notes, MAR’s, and monthly activity logs.
- Maintains confidentiality of all information and complies with HIPAA regulations.
- Attend staff meetings and in-services as scheduled.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Schedule
Position 1 - Group Home DSP
PRN, as needed
Must be available: Monday - Friday from 7pm - 7am
Position 2 - Group Home DSP
PRN, as needed
Must be available: Monday - Friday from 7am - 7pm
Position 3 - Community Coaching DSP
30 hours a week
Monday - Friday, 9am - 3pm
Qualified Candidates should have the following:
*High School diploma or GED
*Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities (preferred).
*Be dependable
