2012 Gibson Les Paul Standard Premium Plus features a blend of traditional craftsmanship and modern appointments:
Body: Mahogany body with "Modern" weight relief, topped with a carved AAA flame or quilted maple
top.
Neck: Mahogany neck with a long tenon hide glue joint and comfortable '60s "slim-taper" profile, which some players find ideal for fast lead work.
Fretboard: Bound rosewood fretboard with a compound radius (10" at the nut, flattening to 16" at the high frets) to facilitate lower action and smooth string bending.
Pickups: Equipped with Gibson Burstbucker Pro humbucking pickups.
Controls: Features push/pull controls on all four knobs:
Volume controls: Push/pull for coil-splitting (humbucker to single-coil operation).
Tone controls: One push/pull for a phase switch, and the other for a "Pure Bypass" or "blower" switch that sends the bridge pickup signal straight to the output jack for increased volume and brightness.
Hardware: Includes Grover locking tuning machines and a TonePros Tune-o-matic bridge and stopbar tailpiece for enhanced tuning stability.
Finish: The guitar has a nitrocellulose lacquer finish and comes with a Gibson hardshell case.
Tone and Playability. This guitar is versatile due to the advanced electronics, and the feel is exquisite to to the expert craftsmanship, and this was the year Gibson introduced the plek system to set up their best guitars before they left the factory. The combination of the mahogany body and maple top provides robust sustain, while the Burstbucker Pro pickups offer a wide tonal range from classic crunch to smooth cleans. The compound radius fretboard and 60s neck profile provides exceptional comfort and playability.
Condition. This guitar is in excellent condition with very little playwear. There is almost no fretwear.
There are no scratches anywhere other than some very faint swirls that are difficult to see. There is no buckle rash on the back. There are 3 small dings on the back edge which are shown in the last 3 photos. The highly flamed finish is absolutely gorgeous!
Guitar weighs a very comfortable 9lbs. Comes with the original hard shell case, and pickguard which were included but not installed at time of manufacture. I'm throwing in a matching Couch racing stripe vegan leather guitar strap ($50 value). Guitar will be well packed and insured for shipping.
